Comm Bonding Post #1
Get-to-Know-You Meme!
We are now a month into the challenge! Yay! Now that folks are signed-up, let's take some time to get to know our fellow participants, introduce ourselves to the comm, say hi to others, etc.
In a comment, fill out the follow form with as much or as little info as you feel like giving.
Note: please don't use animated gifs in your comments; they can trigger seizures.

Location: San Francisco Bay Area
Age: 23
Pronouns: she/her/hers
Tumblr/Twitter/Blog: My personal Tumblr. I have a semi-active blog about disability and sci-fi/fantasy on Wordpress, which has a more active Tumblr.
How are you participating in this challenge: Mod.
Do you have any pets?: I have a ginger tabby named Colby.
Main fandoms: Star Trek (DS9, TOS, TNG, Reboot), Farscape, Community, Sleepy Hollow. Grimm, Welcome to Night Vale
Favorite disabled character: Abed Nadir from Community. I relate to him A LOT.
Recommend something: Matilda: the Musical, particularly the song "Quiet." (Link goes to a captioned YouTube video.)

Tumblr/Twitter/Blog: Dreamwidth and Tumblr.
How are you participating in this challenge: Author,
Do you have any pets?: No, my lease doesn't allow for it. I've got a pair of houseplants instead.
Main fandoms: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Team Fortress 2.
Favorite disabled character: At the time of answering this question, Tyrion Lannister.
Recommend something: The Good Wife. Hyper-competence is a major narrative kink of mine, right along with women who realize they don't owe anybody anything and proceed to take charge of their own lives.

Location: Central CA
Age: A gentleman never asks, a lady never tells. (late twenties, but for some reason that line just sticks with me and I almost always answer with it)
Pronouns: Generally She/Her/Hers, sometimes They/Their/Theirs, but when I had a non-gendered username back in the lj days I was unoffended by He/Him/His. (I'm fairly fluid but I'm more neutral than male and I like my given name enough to just default to female) (sorry, didn't mean to write an essay there wow)

How are you participating in this challenge: Author!
Do you have any pets?: I have a fluffy twenty pound purr-and-kiss-happy cat named Mohinder (Momo for short). I also live with my brother's cat Lego, an angry little black cat who cuddles you when HE feels like it, darn it, and get off his lawn, you birds you!
Main fandoms: Team Fortress 2, Welcome to Night Vale, Sherlock Holmes (the books, but I've enjoyed many adaptations) and Star Trek (several gens).
Favorite disabled character: Absolutely counting Sherlock Holmes as on the autism spectrum, something I felt keenly before I had the words for it-- started on the canon when I was, what, four? Way before I had a diagnosis, but I understood that we had Things In Common. PETE WHITE AND BILLY QUIZBOY, oh man. Toph. President Bartlett and Joey Lucas from The West Wing (I wish there had been more of her and I am glad she was never reduced to Josh's love interest despite the chemistry). Hawkeye with his depression and eventual PTSD... (I used to be very big into MASH, was once one of my main main fandoms), Tony Stark...(sorry again, apparently I could keep going all day, and this is just with characters that have at the very LEAST had essays written about their supposed disability, but mostly these are textual. Ask me about characters I personally view as autistic if you want me to never shut up again.)

I really love Lachiusa's Wild Party and I think everyone who can should listen to the cast recording with Mandy and Eartha Kitt.

How are you participating in this challenge: Author
Do you have any pets?: family dog
Main fandoms: Hunger Games, Game Of Thrones
Favorite disabled character: Tyrion. Canon dwarfism obviously, also sexual abuse (the Tywin-Tysha incident), I don't think his drinking and whoring is a clinical addiction. I do identify with him as a witty intellectual in particular. However, my fic for this challenge will be about the Hunger Games' Annie Cresta. Canon PTSD, headcanon autism. I'm moderately autistic myself, so that helps me write her (at least as a female version of me in that regard). Some of my dislike for her might be self-hating.
Recommend something: my already written fanfics, KingAlanI on FFN and AO3
